Evolution Class

The group of evolution students are each named for one letter of the alphabet. You go up from floor to floor in a tall building, and then retire to the basement. If anyone fails to return with the group, they will be one species behind.

One of those left behind is scratching at the screen, doglike, but you know that he hasn't regressed into this animal form. He has remained the same, and the rest of you have evolved beyond him.
